For anyone unfamiliar with this slang, many people from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia refer to this area as the “DMV.” As I am originally from Maryland, you would think that this section would easily have the most updates and postings. However, I have spent very little time in Maryland since starting this blog, so it will have to be somewhat sparse for now.
Day Trip I: Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum
My first day trip will be off the beaten path for most visitors to DC. The Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum is the extension facility for the National Air and Space Museum. It is difficult to get to without a rental car, but well worth the extra effort. Here you can see Space Shuttle Discovery, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, and the Enola Gay, among many other things.
